4.8 Million Women Exited Employment to Full Time Homemaking
A concerning trend is reshaping Malaysia's workforce, a growing number of women are leaving their careers to full time homemaking. Recent date from Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), reveals that 4.8 million women who exited employment, 3 million cited their roles as housewives as the primary reason.
Many women feel undervalued, receiving lower pay despite their qualifications and being passed over for promotions. The impact extends beyond individual households to the nations's economic productivity. Without intervention, the country risks losing more skilled professionals, particularly young women.
